Felipe Albernaz is designed and produced in Madrid. That's not a marketing line — it's a logistics decision that shapes every piece in the collection, from a trench coat to an evening gown. Founder Felipe Albernaz trained as an industrial designer at the European Design Institute in Madrid before launching the brand in 2012 and debuting at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid. Since then the label has grown into 19 European countries, still working with the same local industry it started with.

Working with Madrid-based ateliers means the distance between a design sketch and a finished garment stays short. It means a pattern can be adjusted in person, a fabric run checked by hand, a fit corrected before a hundred more are cut — the kind of quality control that gets harder to guarantee the further production moves from design. It's also why the collection favors fabrics like virgin wool, silk, organic cotton and recycled polyester over synthetics that are cheaper to produce at distance: sustainability and proximity tend to move together when a brand actually oversees its own production.

This matters for what you're buying, not just where. A trench coat cut in Madrid from premium wool and cotton-blend, a silk evening gown finished by hand, an ivory blazer in wool-silk blend — these hold their shape differently than fast-fashion equivalents made at volume across a longer, less accountable supply chain. Felipe Albernaz's designs are also free from single-use plastic in packaging, a small but real extension of the same principle: fewer intermediaries, more accountability, start to finish.
