Leather Jacket Styling Guide for Fall/Winter

A good leather jacket is one of the few pieces worth buying for the long term rather than the season. Ours are cut in our Madrid atelier in cognac, black, and beige — three tones that each pull an outfit in a slightly different direction. Here's how we wear them.

Over a Dress

The easiest fall formula: take any evening dress you'd otherwise save for warmer weather and put a bomber over it. The Cognac Leather Bomber Jacket works especially well over jewel tones and black — it reads as deliberate contrast rather than "I got cold and grabbed a jacket." The Black Leather Bomber Jacket is the quieter option when you want the dress itself to stay the focus.

Over Tailoring

Leather over tailoring is less obvious but reads more fashion-forward: try the Beige Bomber Jacket layered over a crepe blazer rather than instead of one — skip buttoning either piece and let both hang open. It works for office-to-evening days when a full coat is too much but a blazer alone isn't enough for the weather.

When You Need a Full Coat Instead

Not every fall day calls for a bomber. For colder weather or a more formal context, our Luxury Beige Trench Coat and Clara Black Virgin Wool Coat are the pieces we reach for — belted, tailored, and substantial enough to be the outermost layer of a proper cold-weather outfit rather than an accessory.

Caring for Leather

A few basics that make a real difference: let a leather jacket dry naturally if it gets caught in rain, never near direct heat. Condition it once or twice a season with a leather-specific conditioner, not a generic polish. Hang it on a proper shoulder-shaped hanger rather than folding it over a hook, which creases the leather at the fold line permanently over time. Treated well, these pieces are meant to outlast the trend cycle entirely.
